Abstract Submission

The ISTS40 Organising Committee invites submission of abstracts for oral and poster presentations until the submission close on 7th January 2022. Submitted abstracts have a 500 word limit (excluding acknowledgments).

Please note that you do not have to submit an abstract at the time of registering, this can be done via the same online portal at anytime prior to the abstract submission deadline (using the same login details you used when registering). Furthermore, you can also use the online portal to easily edit any abstract submitted prior to the submission deadline (there will also be a chance for final edits if the abstract is accepted). Presenting authors can submit up to two abstracts (one for each presentation preference i.e. oral and poster).

When submitting an abstract, you will be asked to select a particular session for the abstract to be considered within. For guidance with selecting the most appropriate session, descriptions of each session are available for download here. Please note that there will be two special sessions at ISTS40 titled 'COVID-19 and Sea Turtles' and 'Integrating Pure Research into Practical Environmental Management'.

Symposium Shirt

One important aspect of any Symposium is the shirt! Recognising the online nature of ISTS40, we've teamed up with a global distributor to enable delegates to purchase a shirt from anywhere in the world. All profit from the sale of shirts goes directly towards the International Sea Turtle Society. Buy yours now in readiness for ISTS40!

UPDATE: Unfortunately the distributor used by Bonfire to deliver shirts has suspended its service to some countries, including Australia (see here for a list of affected countries). We are currently working on an alternative for people based in these affected countries and will provide an update soon.

Cancellation and Refund

Please complete this form in the event that you need to request a refund. Refunds can be issued for the full amount paid less 10% administration fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after 11th March 2022.

Guidelines for the preparation of your poster or oral presentation video will be provided prior to the opening of registration.
